The first step in building a custom study abroad program is to decide what courses will be taught and when the program will run. Do you want to teach a language course or a content course? Do you want to supplement your class time with outside activities like academic visits and guest lecturers? ISA will support the academic components of your program, but you retain control of exactly what you and your university will to accomplish for your students’ academic experience.

ISA Custom Programs has worked with over 100 universities to develop and successfully administer over 350 programs. We have seen programs range from language and culture programs to Global Health, Sport Management, Gender Studies, Fashion, and Theatre. Your program could be a very niche program that is a field component of a course on campus, or it could be a session abroad for its own credit. Student interest will be captivated by an exciting course and location, and by being able to apply academic credit to their degree plan.

Information Sessions

Custom Program Managers and ISA University Representatives can work with your university to host Faculty Information Sessions designed to provide faculty and administrators with an overview of ISA Custom Programs.  This can be your opportunity to speak directly with us to answer any questions you or your colleagues might have about leading a program abroad.

Conceptualization for your program can range from six months to 18 months in the future. While more lead time allows us to prepare a comprehensive support structure, and to negotiate better prices for you on-site, Custom Programs is equipped to handle either scenario to support your academic and experiential program goals.
