Jean Ooi, Custom Program Coordinator

Jean graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Management Information Systems, and began her career as an IT consultant in San Francisco. After realizing her true passion was in a helping profession working with students, she switched careers and obtained a master's degree in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Jean has experience designing, implementing, and evaluating programs in schools and community based organizations, and providing academic/career/personal counseling to both domestic and international students. Jean's interest in international education began at a young age when her family lived in Singapore for four years, and she later studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark in college. To this day, she remains incredibly passionate about all things international (especially food!), and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia. Jean strongly believes all students should experience living outside of their home country as it truly teaches life skills you can?t learn from textbooks or in a classroom. She is excited to be part of such an impactful organization, and eager to work with universities to create unique study abroad experiences.
